We are a small family run business which was established in January 1988 mainly as a wholesale concern, supplying rarer, more unusual border perennials, alpines and herbs to garden centres.
However our passion for collecting and growing as wide a range of plants as possible (currently standing at 2600 species and cultivars), does not fit in with the modern approach of garden centres and therefore we have decided to concentrate solely on our retail and mail order customers. All the plants that we sell are propagated and grown on site by ourselves (Duncan and Sarah Straw), our four friendly, part-time staff and occasionally we are helped/hindered by our three young children. We do not buy in from elsewhere. |
